Q: Who is Evolve Recycling?
A: Evolve Recycling (formerly Global Re-Source Funding) is a zero-waste national leader in the reverse logistics of recycled products that partners
with businesses to divert reusable printer cartridges, cell phones and other small electronics from landfills. We‘re part of Clover Technologies, the
world‘s largest cartridge recycler and remanufacturer.
Q: What items does Evolve Recycling accept?
A: Laser/toner and inkjet cartridges, cell phones, iPods/MP3 players, digital cameras, GPS devices and laptop computers. Toner bottles
(plastic bottles with screw-on lids) are not accepted. For a complete list of qualifying items, check out the Price List.
Q: Why don't you pay for all cartridges?
A: Evolve Recycling purchases cartridges that remanufacturers are willing to buy and put back into service. Contact a local waste or recycling management
department to learn how to recycle toner tanks, ribbon cartridges and previously remanufactured cartridges.
Q: How much are my recyclables worth?
A: The reuse market determines which items are eligible for recycling and how much they’re worth. Prices vary depending on the make, model and market
demand. This information is posted at EvolveRecycling.com and changes regularly. Working and non-working digital cameras, GPS devices and laptop computers have a fixed value.
Broken/damaged items receive no credit.
Q: How often can recyclables be shipped?
A: Evolve Recycling is an ongoing program. The prepaid UPS shipping labels don’t expire so you can send one shipment a day or one shipment a year.
It’s completely up to you. Just remember to meet the recyclable shipping minimums:
- 20 items or 20 lbs. of mixed product
Q: Can an individual recycle through this program?
A: Absolutely, simply fill in your name in place of the company name on the registration page. Minimum shipping quantities still apply.
Q: Can recycables be shipped from anywhere in the world?
A: Evolve Recycling operates in the 48 contiguous United States; however, if you have a shipment of over 100 toner/laser cartridges we can arrange a
pallet shipment from anywhere in the world. Call 1.855.933.8658 toll-free to learn more.
Q: When will my business get paid?
A: Your business will receive a Recycling Center check the month after it recycles items worth $25 or more. Shipments valued under $25 will be credited to your account
until the $25 threshold is reached.
Q: Are free supplies available?
A: Evolve Recycling supplies business recycling partners with prepaid UPS shipping labels, free shipping boxes and free collection bins.
Q: What happens to items that fail inspection?
A: Evolve Recycling is a zero-waste company. Nearly 68% of the items we receive are remanufactured by Clover Technologies (our parent company) or by
other companies that remanufacture cartridges and cell phones for reuse. Of the remainder, about 31% is de-manufactured by EPA-certified companies and
raw materials are recycled to manufacture new products. Less than one percent goes to landfills (all measurements by weight).
Q: What about confidential data on my cell phone/laptop?
A: Evolve Recycling wipes hard drives clean during inspection, but suggests confidential data be deleted before cell phones and laptops are recycled.
